Other caregivers
Other caregivers – aunts, uncles, family friends, neighbors – may come to look after the child. They need the same information as grandparents, but perhaps more briefly.
Written information
Create a short, clear overview of the diet that can be shared with everyone who looks after the child. Include: what the diet is, what the child can eat, what is not allowed, and who to contact with questions.
Ready-made meals
For people who do not know the diet, it is easiest to send pre-calculated meals. Ask them not to make food themselves, and not to give the child anything other than what is sent, without agreement with you.
Emergency situations
Agree on what should happen if the child is hungry beyond what is sent, or if a situation arises where the diet is threatened. Have a contact phone available and a backup plan.
