Vacation and travel
Vacation and travel require extra planning, but are absolutely possible. With the right preparation, the family can travel with confidence.
Plan meals in advance
Plan what to eat each day of the trip. Pack necessary fat sources (MCT oil, butter) and pre-calculated meals where practical. Check if you have access to a refrigerator and kitchen at the destination.
Pack smart
Use a cooler bag with ice packs for fresh ingredients. Bring a kitchen scale, storage containers and basic ingredients. MCT oil and dry goods can be packed in the suitcase. Remember extra of everything – delays and changed plans happen.
Meals on the go
During long trips: bring ready-made meals that can be eaten cold or heated in a microwave at rest stops. Have snacks available. Plan breaks for meals so the routine is maintained.
At the destination
On arrival: find the nearest grocery store and check the selection. Maybe you can make meals yourself. If you are eating out, call in advance and explain the diet. Many restaurants can adapt if they are notified in good time.
