At home
At home it is easier to have control over the food. With good routines and the right equipment, everyday life can become more predictable for the whole family.
Fixed routines
Have fixed times for meals. Prepare as much as possible in advance – weigh ingredients, store pre-calculated meals and have an overview of what to be made during the week. This reduces daily stress.
Own equipment and own spaces
Have a separate shelf in the refrigerator and in the cupboard for ketogenic ingredients. Label the containers with content and date. This prevents confusion and makes it easier for everyone in the household to keep track.
Involve the child
Let the child help weigh, mix and taste. It gives ownership of the food and makes the diet something you do together – not something imposed. Adapt participation according to age and maturity.
