Holidays
Holidays like Christmas, Easter and national holidays are full of food traditions. With planning, the child can participate in the celebration with their own ketogenic variants.
Create your own traditions
Make ketogenic variants of traditional food. For Christmas: ketogenic pork ribs with sauerkraut and butter sauce, ketogenic cake for dessert. For Easter: ketogenic Easter eggs (for example of cheese or fatty chocolate if allowed). For national day: own sausage in ketogenic form.
Prepare well in advance
Plan the holiday food weeks in advance. Practice recipes, check that the nutritional content is correct, and have everything ready. Having something of your own that is good makes the child not feel left out in the celebration.
Include the child
Let the child help prepare the holiday food. It gives belonging to the traditions and ownership of the food. The child can weigh, mix and decorate – adapted to age.
Focus on what matters
Holidays are about more than food – they are about being together, traditions and joy. Help the child focus on the social and what makes the celebration special, not just on what is different about the food.
